what are you binge watching?

With our current situation of self isolation and keeping a social distance, I assume some TV will be watched over the course of the next 2-3 weeks.

So what are you watching? Looking at Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+. Open to anything at this point.
Ps. I’m not under quarantine but doing my part!

But other than walking the dog, hanging out on the couch with the kids.

My picks:

1) Santa Clarita Diet (Netflix) - binged it again last weekend. Best show I have seen in a long time !! Not for the kiddies (gore, language). but it is hilarious and unique. Timothy Olyphant, Drew Barrymore

2) Justified (unsure) - modern day western, I love Walton Goggins (the Unicorn) and Timothy Olyphant, so this was fun. Lots of cool guest stars.

3) The Ricky Gervais Show (unsure - you may have to download) These are cartoons based on the popular podcasts featuring Gervais, Karl Pilkington, and Stephen Merchant FREAKING HILARIOUS. Our whole family plays these on repeat when we need a funny show to listen to.

4) An Idiot Abroad (BBC) Again, Gervais, Pilkinton and Merchant, a travel show featuring Pilkinton. They send him around the world to major centres but Gervais tries to make it a miserable experience for him. Pretty unique take on travel shows.

5) Carnival Row ( Amazon Prime) - Orlando Bloom and Cara Devingne. Kind of a Lord of The Rings type cast with fairies and other mythical creatures living among humans.

We are watching more "funny" stuff lately to keep moods up, that is for sure.

“I am not okay with this” is not really binge watching (20-25 mins per episode) really 2 hours long. I suggest Greys anatomy or How to get away with murder

I’ve been rewatching Nashville on Netflix when I don’t have anything else.

Love is blind...just do it. It’s ridiculous and crazy but it’s just what you need to take your mind off the chaos right now lmao

You and wentworth are also good ones to binge. I’ve been watching some documentaries too when I have the time and am concentrating (usually also on my phone lol)

On Disney, some of the movies I watched as a kid

Is the best one IMO to subscribe to, especially at a time like this.

All the Marvel movies, all the Disney stuff, Nat Geo (love watching Dr Pol and The Dog Whisperer)

The 15 bucks/mth would be a good value when you and your kids are home for the next little while.

Well it is to those who still have responsibilities like working remotely, helping kids with their school work, looking in and helping elderly neighbors next door... I wish I could stay in my jammies and binge watch Netflix and YouTube but unfortunately that is not an option to most people.

Seinfeld/TBBT but lately I'm trying to read. 12 Rules for Life for the second time, more that I want to read from my library stacking up. Once I got my brain engaged I started thinking of other books that I wanted to revisit as well..

We were watching Mr. Bean last night too. I just needed something light and funny and (mostly) innocent.

Usually I read in the evenings, but I'm finding it hard to focus on anything for long these days.

Does anyone know if Disney+ has Star Wars Rebels on it?

A bit of a mini-rant here, but with so many shows being 10 - 13 episodes per season, it seems like ages since we've seen new episodes of a lot of series.
A couple of shows that are back just recently:
AMC Better Call Saul - we're now about midway through Season 5
HBO Westworld - Season 3 just returned last Sunday night

A real unique look at what’s going on around the world with the Earthcam app that you can download for Apple TV (and assume other smart tv platforms?). We'll just leave it on in the background while it rotates on repeat through live video from different webcams on cities, beaches, etc around the world every five mins ... really puts everything into perspective when you see how empty some places are and the odd one that still has more people that you’d think!
No charge though they do have some upsell options if you want to take more control of which specific cameras you're seeing.

Informative series very interesting

I watched a 6-episode series on Netflix and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the current and other pandemics. It sure eased my mind by the end of it and has a very good ending to it too!
It's called, "Pandemic: How To Prevent an Outbreak".
I found it very informative as they show the successes and failures over the last 100 years, since the first(?) one on record in 1918 right after WWI and covers right up to Covid-19.
Whatever the World Health Organization says we should be doing, we should be taking those precautions. The key is to be cautious, not panicky.

Recently got unlimited data on my phone and I’ve been watching all kinds of things on YouTube.

In regards to the current world pandemic. The mark of the beast will probably be issued. With a panic that many people are in some cure will be issued.

I wonder who will get the mark of the beast in Brandon? With the strong delusion that has been of prophetic nature many will be turned over to their reprobate mind.

Maybe those who do some biblical research with a keen sense of openness here maybe they will repent?

Coronavirus this coronavirus that. Soon we’ll be dumbed down some more.

Netflix. I like stupid comedy so I started watching the Trailer Park Boys again. Also Youtube for all kinds of short cooking videos for the barbeque. I will say that bandwidth is becoming an issue. We have a pretty hefty WCG plan and it is struggling to keep up. I hope all of us in Westman binge watching does not crash the internet!!!

One thing I've made an effort to "un-binge" is CNN's coverage from the South and the every day soap opera going on in that country. Such a divided country that the coverage of the virus response has a lot more fighting and negativity than what to me is healthy or necessary for me sitting in my house in little ole Manitoba, Canada. We aren't perfect up here but I feel that our response and coverage is a lot closer to a message of unity, sticking together and stories relevant to what's going on at home. CBC Newsworld FTW
One that I'm looking forward to.... The zoo in Winnipeg is running a great little “creatures live” feature on Monday, Wednesday, Friday on their Facebook. Being Monday the next one is 1pm today for “animal enrichment and meerkats”

They were saying on the radio last last week that bandwidth has become a huge issue in Europe and the governments there has asked Netflix and YouTube specifically to throttle the bandwidth back to SD instead of HD.

If you're streaming lots, you can reduce your resolution without a huge loss of picture quality. Ours is only around 610 or so, and for our 32" tv it still gives us HD. It made a huge difference to our loading speeds.

We signed up for Disney Plus and were about to cancel it when this plague hit. We decided to keep it for a couple of months after all.

Kids and I are re-watching all the "Avengers" movies and their counterparts IN ORDER. I think there are about 30 of them, we just got to the actual Avengers last night. (So we are only what, six movies in?? It's become a blur)

It is fun to watch them all in the correct order so they make sense. It's over 60 hours of movies, but what else do we have to do?? LOL

With their Shoppers Mall story time being obviously on hold, Brandon Public Library will be doing story time live streams on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 10:30AM and 2:30PM.
10:30AM story will be "Who Wet My Pants" by Bob Shea, 2:30PM will be Hug Machine by Scott Campbell.

The stream will be accessible through their Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/wmrlibrary

Will also be aiming to have it on their Facebook at those times if they are able to work through a tech hiccup they had on the FB end last week
