First off, can golf courses allowed to open? I don't see why it's a problem. No sharing of golf carts, don't touch the flag sticks, don't touch any other golf balls except your own and of course, stay at least 2 metres away from the next person and no benches allowed on the course.  
If courses are not allowed to open, then can they open up the fairways for people to walk on at least?

Golf courses are non essential. This should be clear to most people. Sounds like you may not take this seriously.  
 
Also, why would a golf course open up fairways for walking? These are private companies and to open it up to the public would destroy all their hard work.

Looks like you do take it seriously as I can see you're very bitchy from too much isolation.  
What makes you think I don't take it seriously?  
All I asked was about safe golfing or a suggestion for golf courses allowing people to walk on. People still need to pay or obtain permissions to get in.

Technically, you're right. If there's one sport "designed" for social distancing, it's golf. And several courses that are open elsewhere have put rules in place to further their social distancing efforts.  
 
Where is falls apart is that people are stupid. Social distancing rules won't be followed. There's always some idiot who doesn't care, or some captain invincible who think's they won't get it.  
 
A few bad apples will ruin it for everyone.

For sure Trevor. You see that everywhere, such as, grocery stores.  
My take is this. People are already out walking. Now you give them the options to walk on the golf courses where there are plenty of space. These people are already walking past each other on pathways but now they don't have to. Private courses? Perfect! You apply the rules for social distancing, If you have a dog, make sure they have a paper bag or something to pickup after their poop and if they don't have any, don't let them onto the course. Minimize the number of people in a group...make it a maximum of four just like real golf. Charge people that go onto the course...it's a win win situation.  
It may not be essential service, but you give people the option to practice safe walking,

I see no reason why golf courses can’t open.  
God forbid some people can get out and get some fresh air and exercise (and maybe even some enjoyment)  
If worried about a “few bad apples” ruining it by not following the rules, then only allow those who pay for a full membership to play on that course.  
As far as opening it up for “ public walking “????

As much as I enjoy golfing, the Province has strict directives in place. You need to understand this is an unprecedented situation. I guess if you want to walk across a course, maybe check with whoever runs or operates the course.  
 
Pretty blessed in the Province to walk in many free and open spaces that don't require yearly maintenance and an unknown opening date such as a golf course.

Im always out of bounds and in the trees looking for my ball. My whole game consists of social distancing even before we were supposed too !

With the province extending the public health orders for two more weeks it seems unlikely courses will be opening up before the 27th.

won't want people just walking around on their fairways, greens, walkpaths. No matter how many people will say they won't damage the property, no golf course owner will allow it.

And courses are still allowed to have employees out performing maintenance on the course. So even though they’re closed they still have staff out cutting fairways, greens etc etc.
