What are eBrandoners thoughts on Heath Insurance plans?  
I have been paying into the Blue Cross extended plan for over 20 years. Now that I am having some chronic health issues I am finding that I’ve basically paid for nothing. I am very frustrated and am looking on how to cover the cost I am faced with.  
Are there better alternatives out there?  
What are your thoughts?

problem when on sick leave and am now permanently disabled. They cut me off. I challenged their decision all the way to the insurance ombudsman of canada, and Blue Cross' decision was upheld. Now live on my CPP which is about $500 a month. Sickening. If I knew that Blue Cross was like this I'd never have enrolled and saved all my money in the bank.  
 
My suggestion is to get a lawyer involved as soon as you can.
