Should a hotel have to tell you they are a primary housing place for people in isolation coming into the city? We were never informed before or durning our stay about this. There was a lot of people coming from up North that needed to be isolated and they even had security that would ask us when we left what room we were in and when asked why they asked us they just said certain rooms couldn’t leave. We stayed 1 night at the hotel and when we got home we self isolated just as a precaution

These are individuals who have come into town for emergencies, doctors appointments etc. They are self isolating for 14 days before returning to their communities up north. 1 case of covid to these communities would be catastrophic and devastating to these places. they do not have the resources to handle it. These individuals pose no more risk than anyone else. Possibly even less risk than the general community.  
 
I’d be more concerned about people like you or other people staying, who were coming and going as they please. No idea where you’ve been or where you’ve come from. So no, don’t think the hotel should tell you. Unless you’d like to also tell everyone at the hotel why you’re at the hotel and where you’ve been ?

I’d have no problem telling them why I’m there or where I’ve been. I myself have 4 kids and take every precaution (sanitizer, masks, go out only when needed) and it’s not like we had went to Winnipeg for the hell of.. I’m not saying that because they were from way up north they should of told cause a lot of the people were really nice

Then keep taking your precautions and stop worrying about them. They are much less of a risk to you than just the general population, or even a hotel worker is.  
 
You’d be surprised at the amount of people self isolating in hotels and airbnbs.

I think absolutely they should advise of the situations. What if You yourself were supposed to be self isolating (e.g) coming in from another province or whatever... I wouldn’t want to be the persons having to pay for the hotel for 14 days tho? Is this an expense covered somehow?
