August 22 provincial update
8/22/2020 at 1:12 PM
The Province is reporting 42 new COVID-19 cases in Manitoba on Saturday, 24 of which are reported as in the Prairie Mountain Health region. Data by district from the Province shows a number of Brandon cases 13 higher than the number displayed yesterday, though I’m taking that number with a slight asterisk because there appears to be an error in the data today in the split between active and recovered cases (see note below).
Provincial data shows the following differences in age breakdown from yesterday as far as Prairie Mountain Health region cases by age.
50-59: 1 female, 1 male
40-49: 4 female, 3 male
30-39: 4 female, 3 male
20-29: 2 female, 1 male
10-19: 1 female, 4 male
Prairie Mountain shows as having 125 active cases, 140 recoveries and 1 death since the beginning of the pandemic. There appears to be an error in active/recovered case data for Brandon specifically today, which data shows at 198 active and 2 recovered. This is obviously wrong with yesterday’s numbers having been 99 and 88 respectively. I've taken that 200 total compared to the 187 total from yesterday to arrive at the difference of 13, but we'll have to see where the data falls tomorrow to verify.
The most recent 5-day test positivity rate in Manitoba is reported to be 1.8%, a reduction from yesterday's 2%.
