do we need to put in place further restrictions in care homes now that we have ones at restrict before more have cases?  
 
these are the most vulnerable in our society living in such close contact with each other.  
 
at least seniors at home can mitigate their risks by limiting contacts  
 
I know that seniors in care homes need contact with families but is there other virtual options that can be put in place.

From what i’ve read (correct me if i’m wrong) it’s been staff that have tested positive and brought it into the homes. Not visitors. Not sure what they can do, they need workers. They do wear as much protective equipment as possible.

Maybe there is a small section of the home they can section off for one family visitor a week and rotate who is visited in a isolated area so it's safe from others being infected and the family member can wear stuff to protect the family member they are visiting. Better than the heartbreak these people go through dying alone or getting abused as no family to witness it. (yes that has happend even here in MB). Family member visiting can wear gloves booties masks (even make a donation to help cover the costs of those ?) and only enter into that one area. ???? Just a thought so the elderly can still see a loved one.

It’s all good and well to be scared about the happenings. But no one asked the people living there what they wanted. No one asked them if they would like to continue living life because what they have left is short and better to enjoy the little things like family and hugs than big stuck in an institution feeling like they are in jail. Now with out breaks maybe they will allow staff more PPE

have family in PCH and the protocols in place are very good. The general public may not be aware of all the protocols but we receive emails and correspondence weekly with updates.  
Visitors are restricted to dedicated persons on a pre arranged list and screened before entrance to the Home.
