Does anyone have any experience with the apps that are available for use on I-pad for use by non-verbal adults?

I have been using different non-verbal speech programs for 25 years. I have almost tried them all and TalkTablet App is by far the easiest. Reasonably priced and easy to program, but they have many pages already set up.

Depends on the abilities of the adult. Do they want a picture system or be able to spell? How many buttons are they capable of managing? A lot of factors to consider. You are best to talk to a speech therapist for a proper assessment on the adult.

This is the best answer. Virtually all assisted communication apps these days have the ability to "talk", but depending on the abilities of the adult they will need assessment and training.

Yes, TalkTablet does talk. It is picture based or you can use an onscreen keyboard to type your words.  
 
It is available for Apple, Android and Windows. I edit my program on my Windows PC, Backup to their cloud system and then download to my daughter's tablet.
