Has anyone had to purchase orthotics lately? How much did they cost you.

You mean custom made, by a podiatrist?  
 
Last year, they were $450.

i need to go get custom fitted again havent had orthotics in couple years old ones are wore out plus the cost  
holding me back now this pandemic

My doctor referred me for custom made orthotics that cost me $500. They did work in reducing the pain that I had been experiencing so were worth it and I continue to use them.  
I first tried several Orthotics from the store shelf and I tried the Dr Scholls machine that recommends an orthotic, did nothing for me and were a waste of money.  
The best money I spent was the custom made orthotics from the podiatrist. When they wear they can be rebuilt.

Thnx..thats close to what I paid for over 15 yrs.ago..glad they havent gone up really.

Mine wore out and couldn't afford a new pair but I sure need them again...

My chiropractor ordered mine, stepped into an imprint and also analyzed by a machine. It was 80% covered under my private insurance and I paid the difference when the orthotic arrived. I see Dr Alan at Atlas Chiro

Mine were 350 at Victoria Chiropractic, private insurance also covered a portion

I always thought had to go to a podiatrist for orthotics specially made when casted around your to shape the mold and which one to recommend

That is what I did but as I said I was referred by my doctor. Whether there is any difference I don’t know but you would think that an orthotic made from a plaster cast would confirm to an individual foot more accurately. Maybe it depends on the condition being treated as well.
