Looking for advice.Im mid 50s and have had ulcerative colitis for about 5 years. for the most part its been mild(on 4 tabs daily Mezavant) .Bit of a flare the last few months and doctor suggested i do some reading on the various biologics. I must say the increased risks of severe infections..and especially the increased risks of cancer are pretty scary to me. Looking for the opinions of actual users(side effects,dealing with risks and how much is it costing monthly?) Thank you in advance for any help or information.

I've been on humira a year and no side effects... To me it boiled down to if I wanted quality or quantity of life.. Quality won and I said to heck with worrying about what could be. Best choice I ever made. I have hidradenitis suppurativa and psoriasis though so different medical conditions..

I have been on Humira for over 10 years.
