"An outbreak of COVID-19 linked to the delta variant has been declared at Christian Heritage School in Brandon. One class has been moved to remote learning until Oct. 1, and close contacts have been notified and are self-isolating."

The provincial cases map now shows 2 cases at Christian Heritage.  
 
Also yesterday, a notice from BSD advising of:  
"at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 in École New  
Era School on September 17th and 20th, 2021 in the Grade 5/6P Classroom, when the individual may have been infectious. The infection was not believed to be acquired at school."

From the definitions page:

“Staff” refers to all adults working or volunteering in a school (e.g. teachers, principal, social worker, educational assistants, custodian, lunch-room monitor). “Non-staff” refers to the students in the school. At this time, school cases are not tracked by status (i.e. active, recovered) as it is assumed that all active cases are no longer attending school in person and therefore do not pose an infection risk to the school community. This data relates only to schools that have a current active outbreak.

The school continues to follow a different standard from what we’ve seen with public BSD schools and aren’t disclosing grades affected.  

This is no doubt a very difficult time with worlds turned upside down in trying to make sure everyone's safe and healthy, privacy is respected alongside any wider obligations within the community.  Wishing everyone connected to this outbreak a speedy recovery. 

And just to add to that...  
no other schools or public exposures listed for Brandon as of this moment, but the city's case total increased by 25 since Friday. The CHS outbreak total increased by three since then. My understanding of definitions on the outbreak page is that the total of ten wouldn't account for any cases that have extended to household members/close contacts connected to that outbreak. Here's hoping that contact tracing is working hard and getting good info to identify any potential public exposures connected to all of these new cases, whether connected to this outbreak or elsewhere in the city.

The Christian Heritage outbreak is showing two additional cases for a total of 14 (2 staff, 12 non-staff).

Despite the significant increase in Brandon cases of 52 going back to last Wednesday's update, no additonal exposures are showing as of now on the schools, public exposures of flights page.

Sun story on the Riverheights outbreak, which information is not particularly detailed on as of now. Two K classes onto remote learning, another case related to the “general school community” said to be connected to the K outbreak. Hope everyone is okay and on the way to recovery.

I do see Riverheights listed now on the school cases page with 7 in the two weeks before November 7. A little disappointing that the outbreak isn't showing on the provincial outbreaks page yet. Increase in Brandon active cases over the weekend of 14 to a total of 35 as of most recent update. Timely info is important in being able to assess how the community is affected 
 

On the Heritage Coop Facebook page  
 
"Heritage Co-op has confirmed that a Team Member who works at the 18th Street Gas Bar in Brandon tested positive for Covid-19 on November 11, 2021. The Team Member has not worked since Tuesday, November 9. We have no reason to believe that the Team Member contracted Covid-19 while at work and they are currently recovering at home and following all instructions provided by Public Health.  
 
We are confident in the precautions we have in place to protect our Team, Guests and the community. Our Team Members will continue to remain vigilant in adhering to the Public Health orders and Heritage Co-op policy; we thank our Members and Guests for their patience and understanding."

Been a while since we’ve seen one of these for Brandon…  
MB Liquor and Lotteries has sent out an advisement of a case in an employee at the 10th St and Victoria Ave location who last worked Monday, Nov 29 from 10am-6pm. Developed symptoms while working. They are now self-isolating.
