Ok I’ve had enough of excuses.

JosephC said "Extremism on either end of the spectrum isn't helpful. It has been nearly two years, and it would appear likely that covid will persist for years to come. Those who regularly advocate for full lockdowns are no more following the science than the anti-vaxxer crowd. Certainly neither group is very grounded in reality at this point.
You can lock down the country until there are no jobs left, but as soon as you open things up again, the virus will inevitably find its way back. Rinse and repeat.
What we're going to need is a balanced and nuanced approach that accepts a certain amount of risk. The anti-vaxxers and the lockdown crowd are going to find that they are opposite ends of a spectrum, and the path forward will inevitably lie somewhere in between. "
So here’s where I come from on this.
Two of my cousins kids ( different households) contracted covid 19 even though they took precautions. They were not eligible to be vaccinated. One of them at 13 years old is now suffering from a form of long covid and extreme fatigue after each day at school.
Cases of the omicron variant have now surfaced in the UK in the next town to where most of my family live.
A family friend of ours contracted covid 19 in a care facility days before she was scheduled to receive her first vaccination. She died within a short time needlessly.
That doesn’t make my views extreme, it makes them realistic. Give your head a shake.
Millions of people around the world have contracted covid 19 and died and likely several million more died as well but didn’t get i:ncluded in official counts.
This attitude that covid is a minor illness that will come and go and the rest of society should just move on is pure nonsense and is unacceptable.
How many more will suffer and die needlessly before everyone gets a grip and treats this pandemic as seriously as it deserves.
You don’t want your twee little lifestyle disrupted for the sake of public health, well guess what, it sure gets disrupted when you or a loved one are dead or on a ventilator.
