Covid Testing Wait Times

Does anyone know roughly what the current wait times are for the drive thru covid test stations? Or for the walk in one?

I mean to get to be tested, not how long it takes to get the results.

I am sorry but that is hard to answer depending on how busy they are. I went last friday to the drive thru one and I was there for about 30 -45 min but the cases have climbed since then so you could be waiting a lot longer. You will have to go and sit and find out.

We were at the walk in one at the keystone centre on Monday afternoon and walked right in, no line at all. Still waiting on results even thought they said 48 hours. I hear now the wait time for results is 4 days+

I just heard on CBC News that the province announced a backlog of 750 0 Covid Tests. 4 days turn around time for results. Yikes!

Quick Covid Home Tests

Other provinces are handing out these tests for no cost upfront to help in their backlogs of waiting for a normal test. What is wrong with Manitoba? Where is Brian when you need him? We should strive to stay ahead of the curve rather than play catchup. I now read that the province is handling out expired 95 masks. Shame.

According to the manufacturer, the masks are not expired, the shelf life is three years not one year.

It’s up to Dr Roussin and Premier Stefason and Minister Audrey Gordon now to make those decisions.

I agree rapid test should be available to everyone, mailing them to households would be an idea other provinces had success with mailing them.

I read that they are handing our rapid tests in Winnipeg at the testing sites, telling them to come back for a pcr if it's positive.

They provided them in the first place the people wouldn’t be waiting in line 4-5 hours in Winnipeg.
If they can give free N95 mask to people who are buying at liquor stores surely they can give free rapid tests to those purchasing groceries in a grocery store.

One person in my household was tested earlier in the week and the result came back in about 12 hours. 2 of us were tested in the same vehicle yesterday and one result is back and the other doesn’t even show a test yet.

Announced today that backlog has reached 10,000+ Tests, so I would expect significant delays (ie- 4 days at minimum)
