I'm required to get my disability status renewed but my psychiatrist, unfortunately, retired right when I needed to get my forms filled. I was told to take the forms to a walk-in clinic and have them filled by a doctor, preferably one I've seen in the past. I did that but despite the doctor having received papers from my former psychiatrist explaining my medical history and me having seen that doctor at the walk-in a few times in the past he refused to fill them for me citing 'too little history.'  
 
Problem is, since I've been living in Brandon I've really only gone to walk-in clinics and haven't formed much of a history with anyone other than my retired psychiatrist, so I'm not sure what to do. I submitted my info to the family doctor connection program a few weeks ago and even it hasn't proved to be helpful as I haven't yet received a response from them. Apart from that I've called around town asking who is taking new clients and nobody seems to be, though I was told that someone 'might' be available at one of the clinics in town in about two weeks. However, 'might' isn't a guarantee and, if possible, I'd rather get these papers filled ASAP rather than in two weeks. Fortunately, I'll be good for medication for the next few months. For now I'm mostly concerned about getting those papers filled.  
 
If anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

There have been a number of psychiatrists who have retired recently, and the ability for the existing ones to see new referrals is extremely limited. Primary care providers are being asked to follow up with their patients, and access assistance through consultative psychiatric services.  
You have taken the appropriate steps to find a new primary care provider. You can phone the number for Doctor Finder, and explain your situation to them. Sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so to speak, so keep phoning them regularly until you get connected.

I appreciate the response, but why should I expect a different result by calling the Doctor Finder number again? They said they'd get back to me and never did which tells me there probably aren't any available doctors showing up in their system.  
 
However, I will call them again tomorrow on the off chance that they never got back to me due to some other issue (incompetence, mishearing my phone number, etc.) and because I'm running out of options and time.

I have no idea what to suggest other than maybe trying a different Dr at walk-in. I have no idea what people are to do as have heard the wait for a family Dr is very long.  
 
I might try calling Community Mental Health and ask if they have any suggestions or any other Mental Health resources in our community?  
 
Could you call your local member of parliament and ask!?

7th street access program as well they may be able to help you as well. Or the clinic at the town Center maybe ? Hopefully they don’t cut you off in the meantime… I’d also get a hold of your case worker and let them know
