Well got this years flu and have had it for five days now and it’s not letting up at all. What’s everyone’s go to home remedies for this? I’ve already done the chicken soup and lemon tea thing but to no avail. Usual symptoms with plugged head and runny nose and some minor headaches but no heavy coughing. Yet!  
First time I’ve caught it in years. No fun.

I also caught the flu in September for the first time in years. I found I started to feel much better by day 7. Doctor said it could be up to two weeks before it was completely gone. Tylenol and gargling with salt water helped. Get well soon!

Grated ginger root, raw honey and lemon juice in green tea three to four times a day ,along with Joshina (herbal ))from downtoun Indian store helped me, it was more chest related ,though.

Flu or cold?

It feels basically like a strong head cold, but I’ve also had the achy bones the first day, so I guess you could call it a flu. I’m sticking to fluids like the tea that was mentioned in the post as well as soups.

I swear by Cold 911 by David’s Tea. It helps

A wise ol doctor once told me a cold can last about fourteen days but if you treat it aggressively it lasts about two weeks.

I have had good luck with sambucol the last couple of times I was ill. It comes in liquid or pill form OTC. Hope you feel better soon!!

Update. Still sick . Seems like a couple of times after serious night sweats that the plague has lifted and I felt some relief only to slip back into the same routine by bed time in the evening. Have lost my appetite and can’t really taste anything anyway. Have tried everything posted on this thread and now I’m sick of soups and teas. Looks like a long haul ahead. Got nothing in the tank feeling most of the day. I know things will get better. Flu shot next year for sure.

Maybe Covid if u can't taste anything. I wud be testing!!

The flu shot is just being given now. You don't have to wait for it next year, just get it once you are feeling better. Tehe Covid shot is also available if you wish.

I was wondering if maybe I had Covid but I don’t have any problem with shortness of breath. Either way, it’s hit pretty hard or maybe it’s just that I haven’t been sick in over 10 years that I’m not used to it. I have had the four Covid shots that were available during that time period but I guess you need to keep up-to-date.

Covid is a coronavirus, which means it is a respiratory virus, and similar to other respiratory illnesses caused by coronavirus it affects everyone slightly different. There is a fair bit of covid going around right now, and according to the school and daycare there seems to be a stomach flu as well.

I've had Covid at least 4 times, despite being vaccinated. I rarely have shortness of breath, I think only once. My legs will ache something fierce, in a particular way that nothing else seems to cause. In a lot of ways it feels like the flu, in others it's it own creature.

I Tested positive for Covid yesterday. So far, just cold symptoms. I’d test if I were you but hopefully you’ve just got a bad case of a flu or something.
