Anyone else out there caring for school age children and aging parents?  
 
I went to see my dad in the care home and found him to be more confused than usual. It had been over three weeks since I had seen him because my school aged children had been fighting flus and I didn't want to bring it to him.  
 
I called the head nurse the next day and mentioned that dad seemed more confused. She said that he'd been treated for an infection in February. She also said that unusual confusion is one of the symptoms that indicate an infection.  
 
I did not know that. Now I do.
