H1N1 Clinics - making them better??
11/10/2009 at 9:24 PM
I'd like to hear what ideas people have that could make future clinics go more smoothly.
First off - It might be good if, say, a clinic was starting at 2 pm - if by noon they had a few people there to start screening people for eligibility. As soon as a person walks in, they are in a quick line up being handled by a few workers who will determine if they are eligible. The people who are eligible get a number.
This way, people know right away if they should stand in line all day waiting for nothing. When they get their number they get in the next line, where they wait their turn. There would only be the same amount of numbers as there is vaccine available. As soon as all the numbers are given out, a big sign goes up that says the clinic is full, and once again - people aren't wasting all day long waiting for nothing.
As more becomes available - I'd like to see the schools done. I'd guess that 95% of the illness in our home is brought home by our children - get them done and it will be much easier for everyone.
Perhaps they could set up a movie center at the clinics for the kids. Or a colouring center, etc. THis would help to keep the kids busy for the amount of time they have to wait - although if there was early screening, the wait time probably wouldn't be quite so long.
What suggestions would YOU put forward?
