Everyone knows what the five second rule is... but I need something clarified...  
 
Does the five second rule apply to multiple drops resulting in a total time of say... 4 seconds on the floor? Because the food item spent less than five seconds on the floor it should still be good right? Or is it a consecutive thing, and a second drop disqualifies the food from edibility... Are there strict rules regarding how many times or how many seconds in total that food can spend on the floor before it is considered contaminated? Is there an official handbook on the market that might address these concerns? Perhaps a "Five Second Rules for Dummies?"  
 
What are your thoughts Brandon? How do you follow the five second rule? Do you follow it at all?
