Remstar Plus M Cpap machine programming

I have a Remstar Plus M series and need to turn pressure down. I was at 18 and was set down to 16. At 16 I wake up every day with a sore throat and chest. The pressure expands my windpipe and chest to much so now it is really bothering me. Is there some one out there who can tell me how to set the pressure down? Is any one else having same problem? Thanks
