I filled my first prescription for birth control a few weeks ago. I have private health coverage. The prescription was for Alesse but the pharmacist said they can only give generic birth control unless i had an allergy to it and that it was a government law here. They said there was a very small difference between the 2. Well now 16 days in to my cycle i am starting to spot...i am now terrified that this is implantation bleeding. We have 2 kids already and were waiting for me to get a hysterectomy so we were not planning on more.  
I was on Alesse since i was 12 for, medical reasons and was only ever off it 3 times in those 13 years.  
I don't want to hear the whole, you should have used another birth control...that too is not an option for us which is why i was on the pill.  
I need to know if this is a normal side effect for changing birth control, is it really government law to only give out generic brand, i never had this problem where we moved from.  
Sorry if some of this is TMI but i am truly at a loss and not sure what to do.
