Asperger's and Medication

I have 6 year old recently diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder. He has very prolonged and sometimes violent (to himself or his thigns usually) outbursts, and I was just wondering if anyone has similar experiences. Have you considered/placed your child on medications? How have they helped? Would you recommend it? I'm just looking for some info, thanks for your help!
