Just wanted to talk to other people who have hypo-thyroidism. I know most people are disgnosed with this as they get older or after they have a child but was there anyone who was born with it?  
I've had it since birth and I am in my early 20's now. It's not a huge affliction. Go to the doctor every six months to get my blood tested and make sure I'm getting enough elthroxine (sp?). I've had to take a pill since I can remember.  
In the last few months, my thyroid has swollen a bit. Two different doctors have noticed this and have made comments about it but don't seem too worried. But I am going back today to talk to them about it again. Has anyone had this?  
I know I could have something worse wrong with me but I really dislike the fact it slows my metabolism down. Even with my regular pill taking, I'm still overweight no matter what I try.  
Anyways, just want to hear other peoples stories with this.
