Unfortunately there is no help for Elder Abuse in Manitoba. You can take their money, force them to change their wishes and yell at them all you want because unless there are actual bruises on the elder no one will do anything.

Can you elaborate more on why you say this? What avenues were taken that turned up no help?

We had called the Elder Abuse Helpline right off the start and got an answering machine saying that they would call back within 40 minutes and they never did call back. We waited a week and then ended up calling our MLA to find out why we never got a call back and what was going on. We were then put in touch with Seniors and Healthy Living and Senior and Mental Health and they have in turn been passing us off from one to another, saying that this, this and this can be done but nothing ever does get done. They told us to go through the RCMP and the RCMP have told us that there is not even a law in Manitoba that they can use to charge for elder abuse unless there is visible bruising. There is nothing that can be done about verbal or financial abuse. The RCMP have told us numerous times that they are coming to our house to help but they never show up.  
We have talked to Deanna Cruthers, Minister of Healthy Living and Seniors, and Sharon Blady, Minister of Health, and they all say that they are looking in to it and they'll have something done. Nothing is ever done and they don't return calls. Even today the office for the Minister of Health told me that someone would call me at 11:45 and I waited until 12:15 and had to call them back and it was as though they knew nothing about anyone calling me back. The office for the Minister of Healthy Living and Seniors was supposed to call me back at 1:00. It is now 1:15 and I still have not received a call.

Contact the CBC's "Go Public" branch. A little public shaming can go a long way!

Contact CTV investigative team and have them look into it. they love putting the pressure on companies, corporations and the people involved in things like this.

The wording of your post caused me to wonder if you are not necessarily speaking of physical abuse, but the abuse of a trusted family member or friend. Because there are no bruises doesn’t mean there isn’t emotional abuse or neglect involved.  
 
The manipulation of an elderly person to control their finances, possessions, free will, and contact with family members is a form of abuse but more difficult to prove.  
 
Not a pleasant situation to be in and can be heartbreaking to watch and be involved in. Hopefully you will be able to get the help you need to assist in your situation before it is too late.
