I've injured my eye, an I think I should probably call up one of the eye doctors on call to have a look in the morning. But I'm wondering, anybody out there have experience calling out an eye doc on Sunday? Any idea what I can expect to pay for a Sunday checkup?

I went to my doctor and he referred me to the eye doctor. Got on that same day. No cost, it was covered by MB health. It wasn't on a Sunday though, but I would recommend starting with a medical doctor.

I would think if you went to emergency they would round one up pretty quick if its serious

I had an eye injury a few years ago, and after a trip to emergency, I was sent directly to Misericordia Hospital immediately, even on a weekend. That's were most of Manitoba's eye specialists work out of. I was at a rural hospital close to Brandon but that was what happened to me.

In the downtown mall. They have an out of hours emergency number - or they did when they were total eye. After sitting in the ER for 4 hours we were referred to total eye and they met us at 9pm at night. Said if we got any more trouble call their number direct. All covered by Mb health.

Call the emergency # 204 724 3023. They will take great care of you! No need to sit in emergency all day just to be told you need to see them anyways!! Manitoba health will cover you!

Call FYI Doctors they will meet with you today and do all the tests and refer you onto a specialist in Winnipeg if needed. If you go through emerg you'll be waiting...
