The rashes around 2 close bites definitely have a bullseye look. Went to a doctor outside of Brandon already but would like a second opinion.  
 
Who would be familiar with this? I am looking for a name of a doctor who has dealt with this before and is thorough.  
 
It is on a young child.

Did the doc prescribe antibiotics? If so, forget the second opinion and administer the drugs. Lyme is much easier and quicker to treat immediately after infection than if you wait. I'm not in favour of overuse of antibiotics, but you don't mess around with Lyme.

The rashes should be sufficient for you to begin a course of treatment, usually Doxycycline, if you haven't then you should see another physician and ask to be treated or tested.

In order to compare the bullseye type of rash.  
 
Antibiotics are what's used to treat the bacteria that causes Lyme's disease - so hopefully that's already in use.

Doxycycline is NOT used in children.

As long as you were prescribed antibiotics, I would not worry. As long as prescribed early, it's very treatable.

Any suggestions of or how to locate a doctor with the noted experience/expertise?

Just going to a walk-in clinic for a 2nd opinion. You don't want to mess around with potential Lyme disease.

Antibiotics were not prescribed.

Is your child having symptoms? Being that it is a child, I would push for a paediatrician consult ie- Dr. Elves. He can sometimes fit you in fairly quickly. Good luck  

A lime disease rash usually has 2 red circles, that kind of looks like just one big red one. I'd still take them in (I'm not a doctor) and get a second opinion, honestly I'm sure if you feel more comfortable just ask for antibiotics anyways. Dr. Benning prescribes something for everything, Victoria west is a good clinic (haven't run into any doctors I don't like), or Brandon clinic, but walk in can be a long wait there. I'm not sure who would specifically deal with Lyme, but I'm sure those clinics would do what it took to make you feel comfortable with there diagnosis.

You could see the Nurse Practitioner in Boissevain, they see lots of tick bites there (the doctor doesn't take clients from outside town).

I took my 3 year old to the walk in at Brandon Clinic West with a bullseye rash on Monday. He prescribed antibiotics to be started immediately and its clearing up well. We have taken pictures each day to ensure its changing.  
 
A second opinion never hurts. But don't delay. The earlier you catch the potential lyme the better.

The pics don't look like the pics I've seen of the tick bite bullseye rash, but I'm no doctor, and it's definitely a round rash, an I would want my child to get a course of antibiotics as well, just to be sure.

This can be a very serious outcome if antibiotics are not prescribed.  
Amoxicillin is usually given to children. I would not stop until you see a doctor that will prescribe some.

From what I have seen and read on Canlyme, it doesn't always look like what we expect. There is a white circle between the two red areas (bite, red, white, red, regular skin color). Photos of it are not the best...in person it is more distinct. The second showed up the next day. The larger first one was more like that second one the day before.  
 
To reply to another poster...symptoms can take some time to appear.  
 
I just don't want to take a chance as this is a 2 yr. old. I would rather have it treated than miss something big that could change a child's life negatively for perhaps the rest of their life...and have it be something that could have been easily dealt with at the start.  
 
I very much hope that I am incorrect. BTW, I usually avoid doctors if I can. I am not a big fan of them and am not one who will go in for every little thing.

I would suggest Newmount clinic on 18th. I think they would prescribe an antibiotic. Only thing is, if you already saw a Dr. About it today, you will be charged by MB Health for a 2nd visit. If it was yesterday, you should be fine .

I contacted the prairies rep and he said that he passed the info on to the head office. He thought that the rash should get larger and stay longer, but just to be sure (he is a rep, not a doctor), passed it on.

Good for you for looking into it further..didn't mean to scare you but better to be safe..

This rash does look like Lyme being that there are circular rings that are not raised.  
 
Doctor's that are trained to diagnose and treat Lyme disease are LLMD's. To the best of my knowledge the last LLMD in Canada has stopped treating patients.

You have up to three weeks from the point of being bitten to begin a course of antibiotics before lyme disease becomes chronic.
