Hey everyone, just reaching out and trying to get feedback on people's experiences with braces and certain orthondists.  
For a while now I have been looking into getting braces,but it's a huge step.  
The price is another thing that has me asking questions, which is the least expensive route: metal, clear, invisible.  
Just curious of opinions and how the experience was for you or your family.

So far we've had no issues with Dr.Bales. My teen is going into her 3rd school year with them but hopefully soon they'll be coming off. We went with metal. Huge difference in her appearance. We had insurance cover the initial lump sum payment then the remainder worked out with a monthly payment plan. She had a few teeth removed first. Adjustments to the braces are about every 3 months.

My son just got braces last month with Dr. Bales. Fairly sure he's not the cheapest, but he had great customer feedback, and we have been happy with him and his staff thus far. Cost will total approx $5,500, with blue cross covering a portion. If you have health insurance, check to see if they offer coverage for orthodontics, could help you to make your decision. Good luck

Just recently got braces with Dr. Winburn. There was no additional charge for clear brackets, which is great since I am an adult! I have found Dr. winburn and the staff to be incredible. They offer payment plans and will directly bill my insurance company so I don't have to do any paperwork. There is also no charge to go in for a consultation.

Dr Winburn did my braces years ago, as well as my siblings. We all have great smiles and to this day always get complimented on our beautiful smiles. He is a super nice, friendly down to earth man. The office he is in now is also very beautiful! I would suggest definately goin and seeing Dr Jay Winburn, but also good idea to get second opinion! Hope this helps!

I have been walked through cost, payment options along with direct billing to my insurance at Winburn. This was all done at the time of my sons FREE screening!  
Screening was not free at Bales. I didn't want to pay to find out what it was going to cost for my sons treatment. I already knew they were in need of braces.  
I now have two sons in treatment both having the clear brackets at no extra cost on top and metal on bottom. The changes are amazing!  
Also I have been nothing but pleased with Dr. Winburn and his knowledgable staff.  

Are Bales and Winburn the only orthodontists in Brandon? Or just the best in Brandon? So far everything sounds great,I will probably be calling the offices to see what they can offer me, I am an adult,and am hoping braces dont have to stay on for very long, max 2 years. Thanks everyone for all your input!

From Chancellor Dental did my daughters braces and they turned out great. And cheaper.  

I believe are the only 2 orthodontists in Brandon. Dentists, such as Dr. Papas, also do braces (if they are not too complicated).

I think your best to go to one if the two orthodontists in town. Dentists are really not trained to do braces and the cost isn't really different.

See a smile you like?!? Just ask who did it! You can tell quite often who has had braces. And you can tell a Bales smile from a Winburn smile. I had braces as a teen (done out of province) and needed them again in my 30s. I asked the people behind the smiles that stood out and all of them were Bales smiles so that's who I opted for. He had 3 price levels and payment plans available. Staff were awesome to deal with and good cooperation with my dentist as far as scheduling cleanings

Can you clarify this a little more. My son just had a consult at an orthodontist and I am just wondering if prices in Brandon between Dr. Winburn and Dr. Bales are pretty comparable or if one is in fact cheaper. I hear good things and bad things about both, so just trying to decide who to go with.

I don't think he would be doing braces if he hadn't been trained in some capacity to do them...IMO
