what do you do to eliminate fluid other then water pills ?

Cut back on processed high sodium foods, leave salt shaker in the cupboard. Get back to fresh home cooking. Without the salt of course.  

There is no medical condition happening that is causing fluid retention like liver or kidney failure. If you have an abundance of unusual fluid retention in your extremities, blood pressure problems, urge to pee at night and you aren't already seeing a medical doctor I would advise you do so.

Inflammation and fluid retention are two different situations.

I would get tests done for thyroid and heart as well as lungs. If you don't want pills try compression stockings if the fluid is below the knees. Sleep with your feet raised. Watch what Indus of fluids you drink

Though I responded at the start, I'm thinking it is really hard to get any kind of a logical answer to your post because there are numerous reasons for fluid retention. You really need to see a medical doctor. You will not be able to rely on responses on ebrandon and indeed some of them could be harmful. See a medical doctor. Is the best advice anyone here can give.

Talk to your Doctor. My wife has had swollen hands,feet and knees for a couple of weeks. It has been very painful in the joints. Her knees had so much pain, she could hardly walk. She had this once before and was sent to specialist with NO answer. This time she went to a Doctor filling in for her normal doctor and was told immediately she had inflammatory arthritis.(hope this is proper name) She was given a prescription and within 24 hours the swelling was going down and the pain was subsiding. She's on those pills for 18 days and today is day 9. She presently has no swelling and almost no pain.. This may or may not be your problem.. Just maybe mention this to your doctor. Hope this helps.

If you have inflammation (red, swollen, hot) something is wrong such as infection.  
 
If you have extra fluid (edema, swelling) something is not working correctly in your body. Water pills help for fluids and are often used when the heart does not function properly to get rid of extra fluids.

If you have inflammation or heat, it is not always an infection. It could also be the disease. I have a disease that causes my blood to flow backwards sometimes and causes inflammation and legs getging hot. So not always infection. Another way to try is turn the water on and think about having to go and that sometimes works and you can't get anymore natural than that.
