Personal trainers for endurance athletes
6/1/2016 at 11:54 AM
Thanks to the OP for starting this thread again, hope you don't mind me hijacking it a little,
I've been a member at anytime fitness for a year and a half and after having memberships at the y, fredricksons, and the university i found this the best fit for cardio and strength equipment as well as availability(24/365) and is also very clean and affordable ($42/mth) and the clientele is a good mix. Occasionally if its too cold for a long outdoor run (10 or more miles) and i don't want to use the dreadmill i will get a day pass for the track at the Univ.
So heres my question:
I have never worked with a trainer before and i am starting to consider the idea now, as i have been a long distance runner for a long time and in the last year or so started to work on strength training to support my abused aging body.
So i am looking to find a trainer that works specifically with endurance athletes such as runners, can anyone recommend a trainer that this has of type if experience? The few i have talked to seem to have only worked with body builders and body transformation clients. I would really like someone who can work on my whole plan with me from running skills and strength as well as nutrition and flexibility. I am by no means an elite runner, but definitely have some significant goals i want to achieve in the sport
Let me know if you can recommend someone and why...
