Just wondering if it is strange for men to go to a dermatologist. I have dark spots on my face and wanted to get them removed.

It is always a good idea to get those spots checked out, and removed if you wish.

You will need a referral from your doctor to get an appointment.

If you are going to see Dr Sneath for a dermatological condition, you need a referral from your MD or NP. If you are going to see him for a cosmetic issue, you don't need a referral.

Thank you everyone. I feel better knowing it's not too vain to see a doctor for facial skin problem.

Is there a separate dermatologist for men and women? I'm sorry, but I'm genuinely curious. The healthcare giants segregate the gender just to make more money out of their cosmetics. I honestly don't know what difference would Dove and Dove Men make, other than making me feel like a macho at the Shoppers drugmart checkout. Specialists like gynaecologist is a different story. But, different dermatologist for different gender???!! Even the jury will be confused whether it's racism or sexism or both...
