I've had lymphedema in my feet for almost 18 years. It gets worse every year. One foot swells slightly more than the other and I can't wear many types of shoes anymore. Doctors have prescribed me fugly expensive compression stockings but they're hot and hard to put on and remove. I've also got a pump and sleeves. So I usually lay down, elevate my feet above my heart, zip my sleeves up my legs and let the pump help take down some swelling. I am unaware if a lymphedema specialist has finally put down roots here, I sure hope so. It would be nice to get a lymphedema massage to get the excess swelling down and be able to feel more normal again. Unfortunately, not many options are available to us, not as much research is dedicated to cure our affliction. Where is your lymphedema?
