Does anyone know when the track will be open again? It seems any type of reconstruction has halted. The weather is beautiful, it would be nice to be able to use it again.

haven't heard back. There has been zero construction going on, this is our only outdoor track and it is sitting unfinished, unusable. What is the hold up? will it even be open this summer?

wont they need this track for Brandon high schools trackmeet

there is only going to be individual school track meets but no city as the track is being redone for the Canada Games and there was of course a delay and now it won't be open for schools. It did need to be redone and it is a huge undertaking. It just sucks for Brandon. I know my son is upset as he is in grade 8 and they were looking forward to running the 4x100m as a team for the final time before they all head separate ways. But seeing as the city seems to be "anti" sports as we are so behind in our sports complexes for most sports venues here compared to some of the smaller towns. But lets throw millions into senseless projects...but that is another subject!

This is amazing. Why did they even bother ripping it up if they can't fix it in a timely manner? I haven't seen any work being done since the snow melted, it is mid May already. City of Brandon, you should be ashamed at the mess left there, a wonderful space unusable for the summer...
