This past week I made a serious error in judgement. My ladder slipped and I landed on my right hip.  
 
I cannot say enough positive about the professionalism and compassion of the ER staff. I was in the worst pain I have ever experience. Being a man that would be somewhere between a common cold and child birth. I believe It was Christian who helped me onto a wheel chair. The four nursed in Xray were very gentle. I want to also thank Lindsay who efficiently helped in emergency as she supplied me with morphine.  
 
I cannot recall the names of all the care givers. I do remember their compassion and would like to send a big thank-you to each and every staff member.  
 
My only observation is that the nurses were kept too busy trying to look after us invalids.

I honestly laughed at "being a man that would be somewhere between a common cold and child birth"... that made my day!! Bahaha! Glad you were taken care of well!

When I am hurting I suspect others don't find me especially lovable. I can only imagine how discouraging it must be to help a grouch.  
 
In my case initially I felt I was treated kind of causally. One the X ray showed the damaged hip the intensity of care improved.  
 
As I said in my earlier post I did not catch all the names. The aide Heyly met all my demands promptly and a smile. Joanne, Joanna, Ursula along with Dr DeMillinaro (?) and his assistant Christian kept me updated.  
 
I am sorry you felt you level of care was lacking. The only thing I can say is Thanks for the care and compassion I was shown.

Having just had a baby I can tell you the nurses are phenomenal! At least on the mat floor! I was so grateful for the care we received for five long days. I couldn't possibly thank them enough. Nurses have a terrible job but everyone we came across was so amazing. I wish I was the right person to be a nurse but I'm not which makes me appreciate what they do even more

My son was admitted to the children's ward a few weeks back and the care he received was wonderful. They were also very considerate of us parents also. It was a great experience in a not so great situation.

Some people seem to believe we should not thank people for doing their job. In today's world people are lost to schedule demands and the acquisition of things.  
 
At this time last week morphine made pain bearable. Thanks to skill of a surgeon and compassionate care of the nursing staff I am up and about. I am not to put weight or stress on my hip but can fully function.  
 
I am so thankful of the quality of care extended to me. At times I suspect my responses weren't that positive. Thanks to their professionalism I will make a full recovery.  
 
I know caring for invalids is something which I would not be good at. So thanks again for your care last week

Great post and it's all positive, but the smarta$$ in me had to smile when I read your first post and noticed the one name you remembered was the girl giving you the morphine. Don't ever forget her name!Haha

I will claim I remember her name as I also have a niece Lindsay. The morphine supply was a strong reinforcement too.

I second that!! In the past year I''ve had first time experience with the nurses and docs in both ER and Maternity and cannot say enough good about them. Those ER nurses definitely know their stuff and work together so well. Being a nurse myself I know the staff relationship dynamics can be strained at times but these nurses are truly fantastic.
