Which do you wear and where did you get them? I'm leaning towards the Mephistos but wow.. they are a lot of money.. just wonder if they are worth it?

I have a few pairs of Bickenstocks sandals and my husband has a pair of Mephisto dress shoe that he has owned forever.  
Loves them always comfortable  
You get what you pay for.

I have purchased both types of sandals. I have metatarsalgia in both feet and I find that Birkenstocks are much more comfortable than the Mephistos......  
The Mephisto sandals seem much heavier on my feet and don't seem to "mould" to your foot as well. I just sold three pairs of Mephisto sandals in a garage sale. They're just too clunky for my achy feet. Hope this helps you decide.

I have found them at Union Shoes, downtown, and a the Virden Shoe store. I have also found them on-line at The Shopping Channel. They are not cheap, but as a previous post stated, you get what you pay for.

Similar to Birkenstocks but with some cushion on top. They moms to your feet and they are cheaper. Good time to buy them......all on sale 40% off

I have never tried mephistos..but live in my birks all summer,wet or dry.I just broke in a new pair..they take a little to break in but once done,I find they mold to my feet and just become part of me..With a pair lasting about 10 years I find they are well worth the cost along with the comfort of course.

The breaking in period, how long would you say that takes? Ive got a new pair of Birkenstocks but wonder how long I have to wear before they feel like "a part of me"? Also do you treat yours with any kind of a boot spray for leather or anything like that?

Well..I know my first pair I almost gave up on them lol..I wore them out of the box for a whole day and never had such sore feet in my life...My arches were so sore and even my calves ached.This pair I did it right..about an hour a day and in about a couple weeks they started forming to my feet.Years ago afriend of mine gave me a broken in pair(to her feet) and I just could never wear them..I guess they mold to the individual feet.But everyone is different..maybe shorter or longer time frames for different people? I know it was worth it for me to endure the breaking in..Google "breaking in Birkenstocks" and there are lots of tips.
