I've never in the past tried this, or had anyone ask. But this year I bought a teal plastic pumpkin to put out in support. I also purchased a few play packs with stickers, and some mini playdoh, etc, so I do have something available for those kids with food allergies. We'll see how it goes for future years. Please pm me if there's a parent looking to take their child to a house that supports the teal pumpkin project, and I can give you my address to come trick or treat here.

Can I ask where you found the teal pumpkin? As a parent to a food allergy kid it's great to hear that there are people in the community supporting this. We have temporary tattoos to give out this year as well as candies that are top 10 safe. Happy trick-or-treating

Walmart had teal coloured trick or treat pumpkin pails (but in the shape of a pumpkin). I bought some of those. I'll just put a sign with it. But I know that michaels had teal pumpkins, or you could just buy a cheap foam pumpkin from dollar tree and paint it teal.

I was thinking of doing a teal pumpkin thing this year.  
 
I see the Eye Opener bookstore/comic shop has packs of little comic books you can buy to hand out to trick or treaters. They have a promotion right now that if you let them open the packages and stamp their name in the comics you can get $1 off/package (I think there''s 6 in a pack). I was thinking of doing those.

Micheals carries the teal pumpkins. I painted one of my white ones a couple years ago though because I couldn’t find any at that time.  
 
 
However....I just realized it is missing off our deck I had other pumpkins out there but only the teal one is gone.

Thanks for the tips, I checked TBS in Minnedosa this afternoon with no luck, but my wife stopped by Michael's after work and found a couple. 70% off too!

This is a great idea! I had never heard about this and will participate this year! Hopefully I will find one this weekend.

We are big supporters of this project! It's great for not only kids with allergies, but also for those kids with type 1 diabetes. We have had non-edible options for years. There's something for everyone.

We were at the Eye Opener Bookstore and picked up packs up little comic books for this reason. My kids have allergies and I loved all the non food items they would get so we got these to hand out. I thought it would be more expensive but they weren't and if you let them stamp them with their address they gave you a discount.

We are a Teal Pumpkin Project house and have been for a few years now. I just put non-food treats in a separate bowl with a sign with the Teal Pumpkin Project image. Not going to lie, often the Teal items are gone first. That's ok - there are many reasons for picking from the Teal items and not from the candy dish and not all are allergy related. As long as everyone has a treat, I am happy.
