Howdy all,
With the switch to the new server complete, just a heads up of a couple of updates to bring the eBrandon weather page back up to speed.
You'll notice that current temperature and forecasting data are updated regularly. Across every page on the site at the top is once again the current temp and immediate basic forecast info. Clicking through on that info takes to a more expanded forecast along with a ramp into the full forecast and weather page for Brandon at the Environment Canada data source for full details.
Also on the weather page itself is new webcam functionality that lets you automatically run a timelapse. The camera located at Grand Valley Church continues to update its image every 60 seconds. By default that timelapse runs across the most recent 15 minutes, but you can tweak it to be across several hours, the entire day, sunrise, sunset and a couple other time windows. I can see timelapses being especially interesting in summer to watch a thunderstorm roll through... or in winter to watch the change in snow over a heavy snowfall/blizzard day.
The other update from earlier this week that you might've noticed in another post is the return of a fully updated obituary page that will have regular links to obituaries on the websites of Brandon's two funeral service providers.
The other thing I've noticed since the switch is the site seems to on average load decently faster. Wasn't expected but I'll take it
