Curious what internet providers people are using in the country. We are with Inet, paying $75 a month and once again have no service. I am getting tired of the issues.

Switched to netset. And she's been super happy since.

No issues and unlimited data

RF Now.

Been very happy with rfnow.

We are NE if Brandon. I can see the fricken tower from my house, there is nothing obstructing our service yet we quite often have issues. Apparently they recently switched over to a new tower and that has resulted in no service in the evenings since Wednesday. I was on the phone with them for over an hour last night and was told to give it 2-4 days for all kinks to be worked out. I am sure my bill this month won't reflect my week work of next to no service.  
 
What do you guys pay for RFNow?

we are just east of Brandon and have netset, have been getting 1/2 of the speed i am paying for consistantly for over a year with no resolve from them at all, we are going to switch soon.

south of brandon and paying 175 a month for inet and have boor service and we are just out of range for RFnow service. means we are stuck with no alternative

I too have Netset as am out of range for RF Now. But I do mainly get the speed I pay for and am very happy with it. Certainly better than the inet and MTS stick we have had in the past.

I have different places on Netset (fyi, i-netlink and netset are the same now) and RFNow.  
 
There aren't really any practical cheaper options anymore. At least with RFNow you don't have data caps. With Netset, we had to upgrade our package not because we needed more speed, but because we needed more data.  
 
With RFNow, as long as you have a good line of sight (we had to put up a tower), the connection is solid.  
 
Netset hasn't been too bad for connection issues (compared to when we had YourLink in Saskatchewan), but there's been stuff like loosing connection the same time every morning because they have to reboot the equipment on the tower, and some other random issues. I also remember twice when their whole network when down and you can't call them to find out what's happening, because you just get a busy signal.  
 
If you can get RFNow, you should make the switch. If not, you could try Xplornet. I hear it's pretty decent these days, but you're still dealing with data caps and higher latency, so I'm not sure if it would be worth it.

Do you find you can stream Netflix fine with this internet option?

With having to put up towers at your house, the provider putting up towers, wouldn't it be easier and cheaper in the long run to put up a cell tower and give better service through an internet stick?

Probably eventually everyone will just use the cell network, and put up a booster if needed. But right now data caps on the cell network are low and speed is generally less reliable  
 
I'm pretty sure Sasktel Fusion (their rural internet service) is using different equipment than their regular cell equipment, but I suspect they at least use the same tower.

With netset and not getting the speeds we pay for. 6 service calls in the last 1 1/2 and many calls to tech support and still no resolution. I am not satisfied with their service at all. How many times do they have to change the radio and router plus switch from tower to tower to different tower before they get it right. Totally frustrated.

To mention that I am in the country NE of Brandon with a clear view of tower. See it from my house.

We are northwest of Brandon and same thing with netset 1/2 speed we pay for. Lots of complaints in the actually credited our account. They said they are doing a upgrade to a tower so we should see improvement shortly. We will see. We can get rfnow where we are at but not keen on the installation fee

We have been switched to the new tower and now we have no service! I called Friday night and was told they are currently working out the bugs on the new tower and to give it a few days. Still nothing Sunday night. I will be calling again tomorrow and I won't be as nice this time!

I stream Netflix, movies and play PlayStation without any problems and im not even paying for the highest speeds.  
Rfnow is pretty much bang on for upload/download speeds

As with any technology, occasionally upgrades do not go as smoothly as everyone planned. paid $190 a month with netset and poor service slow downloads  
pay $140 a month with RFnow no caps and very fast downloads

I thought my $75 a month is a lot lol. There is no fricken way I would pay that much a month for internet. What are you doing that you require that much of a bill a month. For my $75 I usually can watch Netflix and have multiple devices going at the same time.  
 
Well my netset problem seems to be fixed for now. So I will likely just stick with them for now

I also pay $75 with netset. Have Netflix, iPad, iPhone, Samsung phone and a smart tv. I know we work all day but we've only come close to our cap once. I find early evening faster than later but on the whole not enough to complain about it.

Still having issues. I have continued to send emails.
