Looking to build an oversized single garage (tall one too) with electrical, insulated to use as a shop. 1. Looking for approximate costs to build, and 2. Need a few recommendations for a builder.

With the huge increased cost of building materials over the last year I'm not entirely sure what the current pricing is but when we had our two car (large single door) garage built it was around $30,000  
 
McMunn sell garage packages you could call them tell them what you're looking for and they can give to a quote on material costs.

We just finished building 30’x30’ with 10’ ceilings in January. Cost us around $55k all in. I’m guesstimating the electrical cost in that figure as I own a electrical company and don’t really pay for that! South end lumber has packages or they can assist you in designing whatever you want. They can also help you with the build. Struth construction is a great builder. If you just get package price.  
I’d suggest if you are gonna build, hurry and get the pricing locked in for everything. We are seeing price increases on all building materials monthly now. Only gonna get more expensive!

Too many variables to give an accurate price you'd be better to do your own homework. But a rough single car likely be around 20-25 if you try and budget this accordingly and willing to look around. Could also be considerably cheaper if you are willing to do some of the work you can yourself. But ya as already said prices are nuts might be wise to wait until all this COVID craziness is done but who knows what will happen next....

I had heard lumber prices were up, but $40 a sheet for 7/16 osb is just gross, I can't imagine what building costs are going to be, I feel for you, good luck

I also believe most lumber price packages are no guarantees of price increase. Most are saying they can hold the price between 5-7 days. You can say it is almost changing in price every few days.  
 
Even your regular 2x4 have increased into double.  
 
Lumber price is going to increase by summer.

We just bought some 2x4 and they are effectively running $1-$1.25 a foot.  
 
And yeah, OSB is about $40-50 per 4x8 sheet.  
 
I have a few family members building a house. They continue to pay price increases from the time they sign the contract until the shovels hit the ground. Their contracts limit them to 20% increases.  
 
It's insane.

try Riverbend Building Supply by Carberry . They are a Hutterite Colony that will prefab everything you need to build a garage any size and can even provide framers to put it together .They did all the prefabbing for the new Holiday Inn on 18th street and the one in Dauphin .
