Questions about realtors
3/11/2010 at 8:37 PM
I have been looking for a house in & around Brandon for about a year now with no luck.
I have had a few realtors come over to tell me what I can sell my house for. One realtor was so low on the price I just wanted to cry. What is/are the criteria/list that realtors go by to price houses out? All of the realtors that came over all said different prices ($10000-$60000 difference).
I have had so much contact with alot of realtors already that I am wondering if I should even bother with one at all?
What is the good/bad of selling your own house?
I went to one open house & the realtor was asleep on the chair,is that right? I gave my info to three realtors who never got back to me. Another realtor argued with me over selling my house at a higher price (the price I wanted to sell it at) this realtor told me that there was no way I could sell my house at that price, the other two realtors disagreed. Why argue with me? Is that right? Or am I wrong and agree with the realtor? I told one realtor he looked very nice and I told him he was good looking lol he handed me over to another realtor! Honestly I was not "picking him up"! But other than that why would he hand me over to another realtor? Another realtor just told me to look on mls and phone him with the # and we would go look at the house I was interested in. I don't think this realtor was looking for a house for me I was doing all the looking. What does the realtor actual do? Should they be looking for me or should I be looking for myself? What is the proper realtor/client ettiquette? Do they work off commission? If so, what is the percentage? Would they pass me over to someone else because they wouldn't be making much money off me?
Maybe the realtors aren't making much money from me that they don't really care about the business with me?
Plus I find poor communication with most off these realtors as well!
Plus when I am interested in a house that was just listed on MLs, why is it that I tell my realtor I want to go see this house which was just listed, it has already been sold? Are the realtors at the office trading houses like a deck of cards and putting them on mls just to tease me?
I'm getting frustrated and I think I am going to fire my realtor....can I even do that?
