The story behind the dog
5/7/2018 at 9:54 PM
The night before we heard the cow herd just making a real racket so went and checked just before 11, that was when we first heard the coyotes making a lot of noise by yapping, decided because it was out in the field we wouldn't check.
The next morning we fed the cows and checked the calves and didn't find any problems, just before heading of, the cows all headed off to the north side of the pasture they were in, so I drove out to just check, that was when I saw the coyotes, but the dog was laying down so I thought it was a calf and went out to try and bring him back. As I drove up the dog headed off to the east because the coyotes were on the west side.
I guess I might have jumped the gun by coming on here looking for help, but I didn't know the dog and didn't really want to get bit, it didn't take long for him to come to me, but I don't think he's been riding in vehicles because he wouldn't get in the box, or the cab of the truck. First time I tried to lift him he sat down, didn't really feel comfortable grabbing around the backside of a dog I didn't know. I don't have a Facebook account so thought either a call to my wife to post on Facebook or try ebrandon for help. Should apologize to Adam for sort of circumventing the rules, but I had lots planned for the day and just couldn't leave him there.
Spent well over an hour catching him and getting him back to his owners, ended up being one of those feel good events, so in the end it wasn't wasted time.
Sorry for such a long post, but hope it answers any questions people have.
