I am upset - a little black kitten was just hit by a car on Princess Avenue - why would you let it run on the busy streets. It was not the drivers fault - it was your fault for not keeping it safe.

Irresponsible people are to blame. How can you let a kitten run around outside?

do you know it might not of been born from a stray and not a careless owner?  
 
I really hope it wasn't a careless owner though and maybe darted out on the owner. Either way, poor black kitty. I have a soft spot for black cats.

I seen some drive by dumping kittens sad isn't it.

Did anyone check to see if the kitten was dead and not suffering? Whoever saw the kittens dumped ...did you rescue them and take them to a vet or call animal control who would taken them to the pound who would have found a rescue to help them? Did anyone help?

Yes, the driver stopped and called the police. I believe they called animal control and it looked like they stood and discussed what to do then animal control laid it on a blanket but I think it was to late. I was working but I should have gone out and took it to Grand Valley they were not far away but at the beginning I did not know it had been hurt.

I don't blame you for being upset  
I once seen a cat get hit and the elderly driver didn't even know she hit the cat. Worse thing I ever seen.  
I know cats and kittens can escape but people need to do their best to keep them safe in their homes.  
And if you see a cat call animal control and they can set a trap, much better to trap a cat than to see it die on the streets.

do you already own a black cat? I see there were a few adoptable black cats thru our pound website.  
I don't understand why people do not want black cats or dogs. The majority of our dogs have been black.

one growing up, along with a all grey cat. While I would love to have a cat, my current living arrangements isn't the best for a cat. While where I live allows cats after paying an additional fee, life just doesn't allow for proper taking care of a cat.  
 
I don't understand why people have this stigma about black cats either. Once your owned by one, you then know how great they are.  
 
So the cats of Youtube and Facebook are my cats.
