Any DIY raw feeders in the area?? I am looking for advice on where you source your meats. I’m hoping for some good deals as I am on a tight budget but still want what’s best for my dogs. I have a large breed and a small breed.

We did it for a little while. I got my meaty bones from Tendercut. If you explain what you want it for, they will let you know what they have available that's typically bought for that purpose and will order it for you.

You do realize that as much as you may dislke them commercial pet foods ( dry or Canned) are certified to contain the optimum levels and ratios of macro and micro nutrients. AAFCO the organization that sets the standards for pet foods has 41 different nutrients that must be within guidelines to ensure a balanced nutrient diet. There are differences between small and large breeds, adult, growing and reproduction.  
 
Are you able to ensure the proper ratio of amino acids or mineral ratios to ensure that you do not create metabolic problems. What is your source of vitamins going to be? Are your trace minerals going to be digestible ( ie oxides versus chelated).  
Will you calculate your dogs daily energy requirement to control obesity? will you ensure you give the correct level of carbohydrates. Will you suply energy as a vegitable source or from an animal source ( ie canola oil vs lard).  
This is much more complicated than tossing a couple of chunks of beef or chicken in front of your pet.  
 
If you really hate kibble that much try feeding one of the fresh frozen products now available at most pet stores in Brandon.  
 
I have been formulating commercial companion animal and livestock feeds since the 1970's and I can guarantee that your chances of doing home cooked fresh feeding correctly without paying an online fresh pet food consultant to give you a diet and supply a vitamin / mineral topper ( premix) is about 1%.

I get my pork from East 40.  
Unfortunately one of my dogs has an allergy to all poultry and beef.  
So,I’m left with pork,bison and rabbit.  
 
I did have a canine nutritionist formulate balanced recipes for my dogs,which I supplement.  
 
My younger dog could not tolerate kibble. I want the best for my dogs as well. The crap they put in kibble is terrible.

Just ate table food that was leftover? As kids growing up our dogs ate nothing but table scraps. And they survived....

But some of want to make sure our pets get everything that they need to live a long healthy life.

When I was feeding bones,I got a case of turkey necks for about $20.00.  
 
I only feed ground bones now.  
 
Pet Lovers on Park has three different types of pre made raw. But,please keep in mind you have to supplement.

Try keeping an eye out for sales,buy in bulk whenever you can.

Yes some kibble is crap. If you buy the generic store brand, super cheap 20 kilograms for$25 at wallmart you are probably not gettting much. But it you buy a super premium brand mader with meat top of the label and no fillers like corn, wheat or corn gluten you will pay alot more but need to feed less and have a happier dog.  
 
In pet food you pay for what you get. With Fresh lamb worth over 2000 a tonne and it being 75% water, or herring fish meal at 2500 or fresh duck or turkey well over 2000 wet the cost of premium food is very high because there is massive water loss in manufcturing andf drying.  
 
You want cheap look for corn, wheat or corn gluten on the label. You want quality ( at a price) look for fresh lamb, chicken, turkey, salmon or whitefish. Bison is good, Pork is also a quality ingredient.  
 
with pet food the difference in price is not due to the profit margin, quality ingredients are EXPENSIVE.  
 
Also watch for foods tha come from the USA. With exchange at 30% you may just be paying for US dollars and freight from some far off place. Buy Canadian. There is no nutrition is deisel fuel for a semi or exchange at the bank.
