Hi fellow pet lovers!  
Our cat we got last year vomits up soft cat food not the dry food or treats. i would like her to eat some soft food to hep her with her pooping  
My previous cat i don't think she ate soft food until she was way older. This one is turning three in October.

Is she enjoying it while she’s eating it? Cats are known to over eat their wet food, the water on top of the expansion in the stomach can cause too much swelling and cause vomiting. Try a very small amount without mixing with dry food and see if the vomiting continues.

for that answer! Yeah she did seem to enjoy it this morning after leaving it alone when i put it out last night. Do you think one of those tilted bowls would help for the vomiting?  
I will maybe put out a tablespoon next time to try.

Try smaller portions multiple times a day.  
 
Our cat is very food motivated. When we got her as a rescue, if given a whole can she would clear the bowl, then occasionally vomit it all up.  
 
We now give her a quarter can, 5-6 times a day. No problem.

Got two kittens who refused to eat soft food. Vet recommended it may be a texture issue. She was 100% right. My cats HATE pate style cat food.  
 
So I bought PureSnacks tuna mixers (available at Walmart, PetSmart and PetValu). It is just tuna and water in a flake. Then I tried mixing various wet foods into it, chopping the pate with a small butter knife or mushing with a fork until the end result is a stew like consistency...very wet. SUCCESS!  
I can mix in pretty much any wet food with the PureSnacks Mixers (either tuna or chicken, they come in proportioned dishes), but my cats seem to like the Crave brand best. I usually get the Crave portion packets (divided into two sections) for easy mixing. 1 portion of Crave into 1 portion of PureSnacks  
 
If I try just the pate style, or if the pate is in too big of pieces, they will just walk away. It has to be mush with flaked meat.  
 
Could you just used canned meat for people? Maybe in an emergency, but it has way too high of salt for animal use. The PureSnacks will just be the meat (chicken, fish and/or shrimp) and water.  
 
I did try the PureSnacks by itself twice (once a day, for two days) before adding wet food to it.

My Persian hates soft food. She will eat the odd bite of Fancy feast beef chunks but usually not more than two or three small chunks. She will, however, lick the "gravy" off the chunks.  
 
She is an insanely picky creature but also has a very small mouth so we have only found two hard kibbles she will eat too. Hates fish of all kind, she only eats beef. Yup shes odd.

my cat is picky as well. we only do hard but gave in eventually and only buy the chicken flavour as hard cat food. As she would go through the dish and move the food around until she found the chicken ones and only eat them.
