Looking for recommendations for an outdoor Dog Camera. Needed to monitor a dog run  
when not home.

Couldn’t you use a trail cam?

Wanting a camera that will send info to smartphone when not home.

Just purchased two of these indoor models last week and are loving them so far. Audio both directions, can log in from computer and phone and can track manually via either, OR can set camera to auto-track based on motion. Can use strictly to watch live, or can subscribe to their cloud service (approx. $6USD/month), OR use your own micro SD card to capture. Recording can be done 24/7, or only when motion-activated. Very user friendly/easy to operate. They also have an outdoor model with the same options.

My parents used Wyze cameras to monitor certain key areas in my grandmother's house when she was still living in it (bottom of stairs and the kitchen stove, for example). They are easy to set up and use, and you download an app and can watch highlights (when it captures motion) or live-stream (or watch a saved stream). You can set up multiple cameras too.  
 
Also, would a doorbell cam work?

Our MTS is barely good enough

Would you be able to mount an indoor camera and have it work through a window to capture the dog pen motion?

Did you have any problem hooking up to wifi ?
