So on dec 15th my father was in an accident on highway 1 near alexander and he had my puppy with him. He hit a moose and the window was broken, the dog was so scared he jumped and started running.  
He tried calling him and ran after him but could not find him. About 15-25 minutes later they found the 2 sweaters that he was wearing at the time, he had really short hair, on the side of the highway discarded. They were sweaters that his legs went through so there was no way he would be able to take them off themselves.  
I have put posts on this site as well as kijiji winnipeg, portage online and buy and sell. I called all of the vets in brandon at the time as well as the radio stations which i didn't have much luck with.  
I'm just wondering mostly, what else I could possibly do to try and get him back as well as how a person could pick up someone's pet that clearly is not abandoned because he had a collar that has our phone number on it, which they called to tell us that they had our dog and he was fine and hung up before we could even answer, after they had blocked the number so we could not trace it. I hope the person/people who took our beloved family member know how much they have hurt us in this and how we will never get over the loss of him. I'm hoping by posting this to just maybe get some feedback about something else I can try, as well as get some exposure about the situation.
