Attention: All Pet Owners

With the recent heat and humidty I wish to send a friendly reminder to pet owners who wish to take their furry friends along in the car...
Leave Fido at home PLEASE your car heats up to over 100 hundred degrees in a few short mins even with all 4 windows cracked. A good test to see if it's too hot for your pet is if you find it too hot and humid with the windows slightly down imagine how your pet feels with a furry coat!
Please enjoy your pet by taking them for a walk or if they must be in the car leave it running with the AC. You better believe every animal lover will call and report an animal left in distress in an overheated vehicle. I will take the time out of my day and have reported as many as 3 different dogs in one grocery shopping trip. If an animal is crying or howling they are heat stressed and immediately need to be broken out of the car. Animal Control responds to these situations very quickly and wont hesitate to break your window if you are unreachable.
Please be a responsible pet owner and do the right thing! I've also seen children left in hot cars which is absolutely dispicable!
Please report any pets or children left to die in overheated vehicles! It just take 2 secs to call 729-2345 and report an animal or child in distress.
Thank you and enjoy a safe and happy summer!
