Try this, it worked for my dog

they can give you a pill that your dog takes to calm them down and they will do much better through any type of noise, trust me. I have a dog that started this a couple of years ago. It was awful. I did not know what to do, and then one weekend I kenneled my dog and there was a storm. Well, she went nuts and wrecked 2 vari-kennels, a screen door and was pasted to the kennel owner. The kennel owner told me to get her on a pill that is specifically for noise phobias. It works excellent. It is called Alprazolam. You give it as soon as your dog gets antsy as a storm is coming. It takes about 30 minutes to kick in, but the sooner you can give it to your dog the better. My dog does not like any loud bangs, fireworks, thunder, lightening, popping, etc. I went to Brandon Hill Vet Clinic, seen Dr. Nichols and he prescribed it to my dog and she is much better since. You only give it as needed and it does not harm the dog at all. I hope this helps.
I know some people have suggested other things, but this works wonders and relieves the stress on the dog and you!!
