hehe)
The zoo said Wednesday that more than 13,000 votes were cast in a contest to name the new arrival. The 10-year-old Asian elephant Rani gave birth on Feb. 25 to the baby girl. The public was invited to vote on one of three potential names: Emmy, Hana or Jade.
An elephant care team continues to work with first-time mom Rani to help her become comfortable in her maternal role, and to introduce the baby to the rest of the herd, the zoo said.
