Is it me or what? Some pictures of cats in the classified ad don't look a real photo taken I mean they look a picture copied from someplace else (magazine or poster calendar ???). Cats on the picture look really nice but I don't know. Sometimes it will ask quite bit of money sometimes it will say free but once you call they ask for shipping fee that sounds a scam to me. But I could be wrong.

There is currently a scam ad for white kittens in the classified ads. I have reported it and it should be removed soon.

it has been going on for few months then I had reported one months ago and the ad was gone the next day. She had asked $250 for shipping for the free cat. I had helped my daughter for a purchase of a dalmation pup from east coast and that is not how you proceed with shipping the way she asked me too so it felt fishy.  
So beware people. Shame on people try scam other people

There is also a husky puppy scam. Sounds free at first but then turns i to western union money transfers. Be careful

If you see an ad that is a scam, report it ASAP!

do people looking at the pictures find them fishy as they don't look real, not a homeowner settings. They look fake pics to me. I'm sure i'm not the only finding that.

If replying to an ad and the person is asking for you to send any form of payment without meeting them first to see what you might be buying it is very strongly recommended to not proceed. I cant stress enough... If you see an ad that you feel may be suspect, please click on the "report this ad" link on it. There's a system in place to ensure that things are dealt with as efficiently as possible based on the receipt of these reports. I glanced at all the cat photos and if I had a cat to model for me I could recreate ALL those photos easy and could even improve upon them. To say it's a scam because quality is too high is a bit silly in this day and age.  
 
However like Adam says, meet in person, exchange nothing via the web.

There are usually good photographers that volunteer their time and patience to get a good picture of these furballs so they can get adopted!

No, we aren't talking about the adoption cats. Those photographers do a fabulous job of taking pictures of available cats, and studies have shown that great pictures increase adoptoin rates. The ads we are talking about are ones where there is often a 'stock' photo or 'stolen' photo of an animal, and the person advertising has an out of province contact number. The one the original poster was referring to was a scam ad for some white persian-looking kittens.

A few months ago I put an ad up looking for husky puppies. A lady contacted me and said she was from Swan River I think and she was only asking 200$for a red husky pup, which are hard to come by, and she wanted us to pay through western union money transfer. And she refused to meet us at least half way. I could just tell that is was too good to be true. I made sure they knew that they are sick and are a waste of life trying to scam people like that.
