Pet Lovers and Best West? Are they the only two places

Brandon has a good selection of tropical fish. Curtis at best west is very knowledgeable and willing to help those new to fish keeping. If there is a variety you are looking for specifically he may be able to bring them in for you. But remember manitoba has a large invasive species list and a lot after previously allowed fish and inverts are now banned in manitoba

I shop at both places. Curtis, at Best West, is an excellent resource - he knows everything about fish and has helped me more than once. Pet Lover's, however, does an outstanding job of keeping their tanks clean and they always quarantine new fish and any tank showing signs of disease. It is sometimes irritating to wait for a tank to come out of quarantine, but I can count on healthy fish.

sounds about right, but sounds like they don't have fish anymore then I know years ago we'd gotten our angel fish from there

Freshwater fish wise, the two you mentioned are the ones I know about (I keep saltwater).  
 
Saltwater wise, the nearest place I'd buy from in all conscience now is Winnipeg.  
 
 
If you are taking a trip to Winnipeg, the Fish Gallery on Main has both salt and fresh. He also builds tanks and has some of the bigger freshwater fish too from what I've seen. I think his hours are typically 12 till 6 or something like 5 on Sunday, but I'd check his website first..  
 
The Bird Shop and Aquariums on Main, a couple of blocks from Fish Gallery also has both Fresh and Salt although the saltwater section seems to have shrunk a bit in recent years.  
 
Into the Blue on St Marys Rd has good saltwater stuff. I think at least one of the guys is a marine biologist so they know what they're selling..

So we only have two places ... I am mostly looking for cichlids.

Hi moving back to Brandon soon, wondering what the water is like. Ph? Gh? Kh? Nitrates, ammonia. Chloramines? Any tips. I have a fish room (small) for the last three yrs. Any forums focusing on Brandon fish keepers specifically, facebook? Thank You for any comments
