So me and my S.O. have been contemplating on homing another fur baby. We've somewhat narrowed down to a couple breeds. I'm just wondering, how do you find a specific breed around here? I know there are other sites like ebrandon with adds for pets and I have checked Kijiji, steinbachonline and manitobax. Are there any other ways to see what is out there?  
 
I've been keeping my eye on the Humane Society, FFFF, Strays that can't pay and all those places too. We're set on a puppy I think though.

Besides the places you mentioned, the Winnipeg Humane Society might be another option. We also wanted a puppy and ended up finding an awesome little guy right here on ebrandon. Good Luck

Funds for furry friends has a dog call Nim. Nim was at the pound for several weeks so my wife and myself decided to foster her until an adopted family could be found. Nim is 3 years old and fully trained. My wife says walking with her is like walking a cloud because she is so good at heeling. PM me if you want some pictures.

Well the bf wants and english bulldog but I wouldn't mind just finding a dog who needs a forever home from a shelter. I'd like a courser haired puppy like a pitbull, or mastiff or something along those lines but if we can find a right fit with our two cats I'm up for anything.

Keep going to Bdn Humnane Society there are so many looking for forever home, walk around you'll know who wants YOU by looking into their hopeful eyes. Please rescue a puppy who desperately needs a home

Several years ago we got a dog from Wayne McCracken who is a breeder of Olde Bulldogges.  
 
From my understanding the idea of the olde English bulldogges vs the regular English bulldogs is that they have less health problems as they have taken the breed back to what it was originally before people took over.  
 
Our dog Rex was amazing and absolutely loved the kids. If your looking for a dog who is protective, loyal and full of character they are the breed for you.  
 
I would highly recommend Wayne if you were looking for a reputable breeder who is really good to deal with.

There's English bulldogs on kijiji right now for 1200. That's very cheap considering they go for 2500-4000.. That being said they don't have their papers but say they are full breed.

There's also an English bulldog breeder named Marvin in Melita his number is 204 -522-0746 .. You've kinda missed the deadline for most English bulldog litters. They are usually born in the summer.

Brandon Kennel Club might be a good place to start, they'd have info on breeders.

Thanks for the info everyone! I think I'm going to keep an eye on adoptions for now! I'll maybe call around but I think I'd rather adopt someone looking for a forever home!

There are so many dogs waiting for someone like you. I'm sure you'll find a great addition to your family.  
And for every one that is adopted, you are saving two lives. The one you take and the one on the waiting list to get into the shelter.

I'm so so happy you are thinking of adopting! I have 2 of my dogs from FFFF and I've totally become one of those "PLEASE ADOPT THE DOGS THEY NEED THE LOVE" people because it honestly makes you feel so so good in side.
