I have some fur coat pieces left over from a project . would it be to weird to take them to the Humane society for the animals to use as beds ?

But I believe that anything that is used for bedding for animals has to be washable.  
Kind thought though.  
Have heard of people making teddy bears from old fur coats.

What size are they? I know someone who makes costumes that might have use for them.

I wish I had the answer. Many of us have fur coats passed down from grandparents.  
 
Unfortunately, it's become so gauche to wear fur, no one would even dream of it. The only thing I can think of is to maybe keep it in the car trunk in case of being stranded and needing to survive.  
 
There is also the option to sell it to the bottom-feeders, who pay like $20 and make it into Teddy bears.

could take them to the Nearly New as people come in looking for pieces for crafts, moccasins, mitts etc. All profits go towards puchasing hospital equipment for patient care.

Blue Guru - my MIL had an old full length fur coat that she got made into 3 teddy bears, one for each of her grand children. She gave them the bears along with a photo of her & granddad when they were younger and she was wearing the coat. I let my daughter play, cuddle & drag that bear around and now as she's getting older she's realizing it has special meaning to her. Not all kids will appreciate it but such a thoughtful gift.
